The Mouldings Industry Assocation is the UKs official not-for-profit regulatory body for mouldings, standards and designs in the UK. Its primary objective is to ensure that manufacturers are using and producing designs of unique origin, and to avoid infringement of intellectual property of other designers.

The Mouldings Industry Assocation was set up in 1997 to establish a common standard in designs and materials used in the manufacture of mouldings, and to ensure common conventions be used to facilitate the longjevity of mouldings designs.

The Mouldings Industry Associations primary goal is to ensure mouldings of the same name retain the same dimentions, regardless of who manufactures those mouldings, so that a consumer can order replacement products at any time in the future, without the risk of the design no longer being produced in the original specification. This protects against hostage pricing (if you need to match existing mouldings, and only one manufacturer produces them, they can charge you whatever they like) and against the original manufacturer going out of business, leaving you without replacement mouldings.

A secondary goal of the mouldings industry association is to standardise the quality of materials used in the manufacture of mouldings. The difference in quality between cheap pine, and quality pine, is substatial, as is the materials cost. The mouldings industry association aims to identify the true quality of each material so that consumers can compare like for like. The material differential applys to any materials, including MDF, Hardwoods, Plaster and even styrofoam.

As a consumer, you are only protected if the company you are purchasing your mouldings from, displays a "Mouldings Industry Association Certified" badge on thier website. Additionally, each mouldings design should reference the mouldings industry association page for that design.

For mouldings firms, the mouldings industry association provides certification so that you can assure your customers that your mouldings are of a high standard, in a design which will be available indefinitely. Your company is also protected from dodgy manufacturers selling substandard products at reduced prices.

Join the Mouldings Industry Association and proudly display the mouldings industry association certified badge on your website, and tell your customers about the benefits of your membership.

When you join, you can choose from the following badges.
